Interruption to Online Services Feb. 19-21

Scheduled maintenance to our computer system this Family Day Weekend will impact your library experience whether you visit us in person, or try to interact with us online. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Read on for information that will help you understand what we will and won’t be able to do.

Things that remain the same:

  • We’ll be open on Saturday, as usual (10am to 5pm)
  • You will have access to our Public Internet Stations.
  • Our website ( will be available.   
  • Our Facebook page will also be available.

Things that will be affected:

  • At the Circulation Desk:
    • You must have your library card with you. There will be absolutely no way to look you up, otherwise.
    • We will be unable to print receipts or provide any information about your account. (Edited on Feb. 17)
    • We will not be able to renew items you still have at home.
    • Our system will not provide accurate information about what is available and what is on our shelves. It may take longer than usual to determine availability.
  • At Home
    • You will be able to view the Catalogue, BUT information about the availability of items will not be up-to-date.
    • You will not be able to sign in to your My PPL Account or create one.
      • No online holds
      • No online renewals
    • Any online service that requires your library card number for access or registration will not be available.
      • No OverDrive/Libby
      • No Kanopy
      • No Online Resources (unless they do not require authentication with your library card)


  • Remember that we’ll be closed on Monday February 21st for Family Day!
  • If the maintenance is completed earlier than expected, online access should return at that time (even if we are closed).
  • We’ll update your accounts on Tuesday morning when staff return to work after the holiday on Monday.
