The library provides access to many useful resources to support your research into military history and culture.

PETAWAWA PUBLIC LIBRARY MILITARY RESOURCES

Our Online Catalogue
will provide you with information on the titles held in our library on a variety of aspects of military studies including military history, military life, weapons, vehicles etc.

The RBC Collection is sponsored by RBC and the Phoenix Centre and is designed to support military members and their families. It contains information on deployment, military history, family issues and more. Any member of the Petawawa Public Library may borrow these items.

The Military and Intelligence Database is part of our online database collection. To use the database from home, just enter your 14-digit library card number when prompted. This database has an American focus, but includes full-text coverage of selected years of Canadian publications such as Esprit de Corps, Army Doctrine and Training Bulletin, and Peace Magazine.

The War and Terrorism Collection is also part of our online database collection. To use it from home, just log in with your 14-digit library card number when prompted. Explore conflicts and their causes.

Canadian Points of View Reference Centre is another useful database. To use the database from home, just enter your 14-digit library card number when prompted. Browse by category under headings such as Global Issues, Human Rights, and War & Terrorism for topics related to military issues.

Our Interlibrary Loans Service provides access to useful resources from other libraries. If you require books for your studies that are not part of our collection, please order them well in advance. It can take more than a month for the books to arrive at the library once the request is processed.

Museum Passes may be borrowed and allow free admission to a variety of local and national museums including the Canadian War Museum and the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
