TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, all interests, and all abilities. This free program is co-created and delivered by more than 2,000 public libraries across Canada. It’s designed to inspire kids to explore the fun of reading their way.
Why it’s special:
Kids (and their caregivers) can participate anytime, and anywhere. Join the local public libraries across Canada as well as at home, online, or wherever their summer takes them.
Participants explore recommended reads; track their own reading, as well as connect and share with others across the country. Read books online; join in activities; collect reading incentives; write jokes, stories and book reviews, and more. There are great resources for kids with print disabilities as well as for pre-readers and their families.
A recent tally of TD Summer Reading Club numbers shows the significant impact of the program: 831 546 participants in more than 45 000 programs that were delivered by 2 050 library branches across the country.
How it works
Stop by the library in person and grab your TD Summer Reading kit: this includes a tracking book, stickers for tracking, and some extra goodies. For every half hour that you read, add a sticker to your book. Near the end of summer, bring your book back. For every 10 stickers, you will receive a ballot to be entered into a draw for a chance to win prizes!
